WATERBERG PLATEAU NATIONAL PARK

cdn_helper cdn_helper cdn_helper cdn_helper

Jamy Traut Hunting Safaris is proud to announce exclusive hunting rights on Namibia’s spectacular Waterberg Plateau, a 156-square-mile national park that frequently produces Africa’s largest Cape buffalo trophies. Moreover, unlike previous hunting operators who were limited to specific areas, the entire park will now be hunted. While most will come to Waterberg for huge Cape buffalo with an outside spread in the mid-to-upper 40s, additional species include leopard, eland, giraffe and hunts for multiple Cape buffalo will also be offered on a limited basis. Waterberg operations began in 2019, and we will continue to hunt the area until end of 2025. Hunting will take place from a luxury tented camp located inside the park boundary. The quality of trophies, quantity of game and the wilderness setting combine to make Waterberg one of Africa’s finest safari destinations. Combining a safari there with Kaokoland or Panorama is certain to produce the hunt of a lifetime. Based on initial demand, it is advisable to reserve Waterberg dates at least a year in advance.

PANORAMA

Home to Jamy Traut and his family, Panorama is a hunter’s paradise. One of the most striking aspects of this paradise is the size of the hunting area. This includes Panorama itself, as well as several neighboring farms. At night the only lights visible in this beautiful, isolated part of Africa, are the stars surrounding the Southern Cross. The terrain is diverse. From mountains to red-sand dunes and grassland Savannah. A wide variety of game is available. This includes, which are the most popular, kudu, eland and oryx (gemsbok). In total, there is a selection of over 20 species on offer. Panorama offers accommodation at the height of luxury and convenience. Jamy Traut Hunting Safaris’ guests will be accommodated in beautiful, thatched roof chalets which boast full bathrooms outlined on elevated permanent foundations near the Traut family home. Mouth-watering, full-course meals are served in the main dining area which houses a fully stocked bar. All hunting is done on Panorama and adjoining properties, making this an ideal location for a family safari. A party of up to five hunters can be hosted, with additional observers also welcome. Panorama is less than a 3-hour drive from Windhoek airport. Hunts are hosted for a minimum of seven days to ensure you experience the ultimate safari. A hunt at Panorama is certain to be an experience of a lifetime, never to be forgotten.

KALAHARI

cdn_helper cdn_helper cdn_helper cdn_helper

One of the most beautiful landscapes in Africa, the Kalahari Desert is a fitting backdrop for what many consider to be the hunting’s greatest trophy, – a wild and free-ranging lion. Jamy Traut Hunting Safaris has exclusive access to a vast, private Kalahari hunting area that offers a very limited number of permits for lion and lioness each year. Kalahari lions are large and often wear good manes. The remote nature of this area affords the exciting possibility of tracking through the desert in addition to spot and stalk or hunting over bait. This property also offers an unsurpassed opportunity to hunt huge oryx (gemsbok), along with eland, red hartebeest, duiker and steenbok. Kalahari hunts are based from a lodge, luxury tent camp or fly camp as depending on the conditions. Visitors can indulge in spectacular additional activities such as bird shooting. Hunters can also enquire about the possibility of combining the Kalahari lion hunt with plains game species. As with a Caprivi safari, it is advisable to arrange a Kalahari lion hunt as far in advance as possible.

KAOKOLAND

Home of the Himba tribe, Kaokoland is one of the wildest and least populated areas in Namibia. It is a world of breathtaking mountain scenery, home of the rare desert dwelling elephant and midnight awakenings by the notorious lion prides. Jamy Traut Hunting Safaris has access to over an incredible 1.5 million acres of hunting ground, which is the largest continuous hunting area in Namibia. Kaokoland offers the opportunity to hunt huge springbok, along with eland, mountain zebra, gemsbok (oryx), kudu, steenbok, klipspringer, black-faced impala and giraffe. The area also offers elephant, leopard and lion. Safaris are scheduled for a minimum of 7 days. Our luxury tented camp is situated on the bank of a riverbed and can host up to four hunters at any time and observers are always welcome. Kaokoland can be combined with Caprivi and Panorama hunts. Given the limited number of trophy permits for lion, elephant and leopard available each year, it is advisable to book a Koakoland safari in advance.

CAPRIVI

The Caprivi Strip is a land of mighty rivers and extraordinary herds of big and plains game. We have exclusive and approved access to hunt in different Caprivi concessions from a main central camp. You will be supported by trained staff that attend to your accommodation and hunting needs. Safaris are scheduled for a minimum of 7 days and offer elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, hippopotamus, crocodile, red lechwe, reedbuck and various other plains game species. Up to three hunters can be accommodated by Jamy Traut Hunting Safaris at any time and observers are always welcome. Additional activities include bird shooting, fishing and unequaled wildlife photography. Even though the Caprivi is a wild landscape, both commercial flights and charter air services minimize the time required for ground transportation. This also expedites relocation to the Kalahari, Kaokoland or Panorama camps where many additional species are available. Given the limited number of trophy permits available each year, it is advisable to book a Caprivi safari well in advance.
